Breeze Botanicals approved for Ashland pot delivery

Oregon officials approved an application by Breeze Botanicals in Ashland to start making deliveries of cannabis products starting Friday.

“We really need this because here we are in a crisis and a lot of people in Ashland who have been self quarantining and don’t want to leave their homes,” said Brie Malarkey, owner of Breeze Botanicals.

Deliveries will be made from noon to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Malarkey said she applied with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission to make home deliveries last October, and she got word Thursday morning that she’d been approved.

Orders for any product in the store can be placed online at www.breezebotanicals.com. A minimum order of $75 is required for home delivery.

Drivers will wear gloves and a face mask while making deliveries. All deliveries will be made to an adult with a valid identification.

Malarkey said she was working on launching an online ordering system in April, but she moved up the launch. As a result, customers can order and arrange for deliveries or stop by the store for a quick pickup of their order.

The delivery service is available only to Ashland residents.

Malarkey said delivery isn’t available at her Gold Hill store because many of the customers are from rural areas, such as from Sams Valley.

But Gold Hill customers can place an online order and pick it up at the front door of the store.

Home delivery of cannabis isn’t a new thing in the industry.

Diamond Cannabis in Grants Pass and Emerald Triangle Dispensary in Medford both offer home delivery.

Since the pandemic began, Malarkey said she’s seen a decline in orders for her manufacturing business, Sun God Medicinals. But the direct-to-consumer sales through her website have increased.
